3D with Blender

So its been some time since I have written anything here. Lets just say that my day job has gotten the better of my time and the last year of my life has been interesting. All the 3D rendering that I have done here has been with 3D Studio Max or Renderworks which is Vectorworks Render software. I have become a big believer in Open Source software. That probably why this site is run of WordPress and why I choose to build site with WP and Joomla. But today I am turning my attention into learning Blender 2.5. Its open source and the videos and images that I have seen out on the web have just blown my mind away in photo realism. So bye bye to the old and hopefully I can learn and master the new.

Another Update to MPR Website

For the most part the sites look has not changed much. There was a lot of work to the back-end and the template to make the site more user friendly for the owner. The site now incorporates the NextGen Gallery Plugin. Some CSS tricks to incorporate better looking thumbnails and images. This site has taken the standard WordPressblogging software and turned it into a functional CMS that doesn’t have that appearance of a standard blogging site. I truly believe that the more you let the owner of the site the ability to change the content and information with in the site. The better there site will be and easier it will be for them. Making Wordpress on of the easier free open source solutions out there.

Installed and designed template for kcwilkersondesign.com. Site is using wordpress as a CMS (Content Management System) and is using template pages to give it a more customized look. Using this blogging software and customizing it makes the on the fly updates from the Owner site easy to maintain and update sections of the site.

I made the bad choice to update the wordpress software without testing it on my test server. As you can see my layout and coding has been messed up a little. Will need to find time to figure out what changed and caused my colors and divs to change.

UPDATE 7-31-2009

I spent a Friday night reworking the CSS and templates that make up my site. I basically had to change some of my DIV tags and the labeling for them. Not sure why. But in the long run my CSS is now more clean and to the W3 Standard.

I mention a while back that MPR Website was starting to use wordpress for his news section to easily post updates. As of this week his entire site is now running under wordpress allowing him more free range on how he updates his site pages.

Layout Tweaks

I have been very busy the last few months with my main job and outside activities that I have not been able to tweak my flash version to a look that I prefer. Its a little more clean and consistent. Will be working on the wordpress theme to match the flash version hopefully soon.

Ever since I started using wordpress on this site. I have been learning how to code the pages required to incorporate WordPress into any site that I create. This week MPR started using it for his news section.

Updates to Client Site

Today the newer version of michaelryanart.com went online on a new server with more flexibility. Major change is the colors going from black to white background. In the gallery areas, the viewable space has increased and more thumbnails now show per page. A email form has been added to the contact section as well as the sometimes enoying welcome page as gone away. The biggest benifit to the site is its ability to be crawled much easier by google and other search engines.

KC Wilkerson has been hard at work getting ready for his gallery show and since his Site went online a few months ago he has been busy adding images and now making prints available for purchase. I have modified his new gallery section with more images and more features. Two main additions are dynamic text fields which allows him more flexability as well as a buy button which will link to images that he selects to be available for purchase.
